Administrative Affairs Office

The Administrative Affairs Office is the body of the Imperial Government responsible for taking on general administrative matters and business not assigned exclusively to another office. It deals chiefly with governmental and administrative matters that other government bodies have not yet taken up, that cannot for the time being appropriately be assigned exclusively to a particular department, or that this Office takes on after coordination. Its functions are supplementary and its jurisdiction flexible: general administrative matters for which no other body is expressly responsible may be handled by the Administrative Affairs Office, which shall where necessary coordinate with the relevant bodies in dealing with them.
The jurisdiction of the Administrative Affairs Office does not exclude other government bodies from taking part in the relevant matters within their own competence. Where the Imperial Offices consider that some of these matters relate to their functions or to current governmental needs, they may likewise take part in, assist with or share the relevant work as circumstances require.

Functions
To take on general administrative and governmental matters that have not been clearly assigned to another department or that no department is for the time being handling.
To deal with work that is interdepartmental, provisional or awaiting a definitive competent authority, and to liaise and coordinate with the relevant bodies as required.
The Imperial Offices may, as policy requires, take part in or share certain matters; the specific division of work shall be decided through coordination among the departments concerned.
The scope of what this Office takes on is flexible and may be adjusted in accordance with the needs of the government and the actual division of work among departments.
